Birdville ISD - Mullendore Elementary School

Written by Lee Lewis | Aug 11, 2025 9:51:30 PM

Mullendore Elementary School is a replacement for the original campus, built in 1955. The new state-of-the-art school is a STEM-focused learning environment funded by Birdville ISD’s voter-approved 2022 Bond.

Serving Pre-K through 5th grade, Mullendore is the district’s first Preparatory STEM Academy, featuring makerspaces, hands-on science labs, outdoor learning zones, and collaborative hubs that foster early STEM fluency and real-world problem-solving. The facility blends stone, exposed steel, wood, and glass with sweeping ceiling curves, vibrant hallways, and natural textures to create an open, inspiring atmosphere. The school’s interior design draws inspiration from the idea of gathering around a campfire, with storybook-style murals depicting trees, tents, and glowing flames. These warm, imaginative elements, paired with bright, collaborative spaces, support both academic and emotional growth.

Named for Alliene Mullendore—a beloved educator, principal, and the first woman elected to the Birdville ISD Board of Trustees—the campus honors her legacy of kindness, hard work, and dedication to children. Every detail ensures students feel seen, supported, and inspired to reach their fullest potential. Mullendore Elementary School opened in Fall 2025.
