Irving ISD - Baby University South

Written by Lee Lewis | Aug 19, 2025 8:08:36 PM

Irving ISD's Baby University is a high-quality, tuition-based childcare center created to support the children of Irving ISD teachers and full-time employees, serving infants as young as 6 weeks through age 3. More than childcare, Baby University emphasizes early cognitive growth and development while also offering classes for expectant mothers to help them prepare for their new arrivals.

The facility’s unique architectural design prioritizes both nurturing environments and safety. Featuring abundant glass, exposed wood, and individualized age-appropriate courtyards for outdoor learning, the building is designed to foster curiosity and exploration. Inside, black-and-white wall coverings with integrated play elements help stimulate babies’ senses, while blazing and linear slot diffusers ensure comfort during Texas summers. Safety and security are also central, with a double buzz-in/secure vestibule protocol modeled after other Irving ISD campuses.

Funded through the May 2023 bond package, construction was completed in just over a year. Baby University is set to open in Fall 2025, providing a supportive and enriching environment for children, families, and the greater Irving ISD community.
