LEPAA - Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences

The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences is a world-class venue, serving as the cultural hub of Lubbock and the cornerstone of its downtown revitalization. This premier performing arts campus features top tier, NC-15 acoustic ratings and world-class spaces: 

• The Helen DeVitt Jones Theater: A four-level, 2,200-seat performance venue.
• The Crickets Studio Theater: A 425-seat studio theater designed in partnership with Lubbock ISD.
• The Grand Hall: A 6,000 SF multipurpose event space.
• Ballet Lubbock Pre-Professional Academy: A 22,000-square-foot studio with dedicated storage and office space.
• Food and Dining: A 100-seat bistro backed by a 2,500-square-foot  commercial kitchen. 

The lobby serves as a striking architectural showcase, centered around an exquisite, 56--foot-tall helical spiral staircase. Spanning three stories, this dramatic structure features a central spine that supports cantilevered stair treads ranging from 8 to 14 feet in length.

Nearby, a magnificent sculptural art installation by a Texas artist depicts Buddy Holly playing his iconic Stratocaster guitar. Crafted from brushed bronze and aluminum, the piece features 9,000 multi-sized guitar picks that double as an engraved donor recognition wall.

For visiting companies, the hall offers premier backstage amenities—including dedicated dressing rooms, offices, set storage, and performer lounges—to seamlessly accommodate productions of any scale. Today, the world-class facility proudly serves as the home base for Ballet Lubbock, the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, and Lubbock ISD Visual and Performing Arts.
