Angelo State University | Plaza Verde Residence Hall

San Angelo, Texas

About the project

The first phase of Plaza Verde Residence Hall created four three-story buildings at a projected cost of $45 million.  The facility is a complex of nine buildings (500 Beds) plus a clubhouse/office building.  Total projected cost of Plaza Verde I and II is $62 million. The Campus Green Project is budgeted at $1.85 million. The project square footage is approximately 175,000 GSF including approximately 14,700 SF of retail space on the first floor of the north wing. In addition to student living units, the Residence Hall contains a building lobby with concierge, lounge space, TV watching area and billiards; a two-story Commons facility, large meeting room; a 70 seat tiered theater; student lounge/meeting rooms; a technology rich gaming room; a card-operated student laundry; (2) exterior verandas; a green roof and a third floor meeting/conference room above the building lobby on the east side of the elevator.  Plaza Verde has also been designed to be a “green” building, and is seeking Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification. The structure was created with sustainable materials, and its design accounts for energy efficiency as well as gray water and rainwater reclamation.
