Birdville ISD - Haltom High School

Haltom City, TX

About the project

The Haltom High School Addition and Renovation, part of the district’s 2022 bond program, enhances student experience, increases capacity, improves safety, and modernizes key campus spaces. The project includes 14,000 SF of new construction with dedicated cheer and dance studios, along with supporting locker rooms, vanity areas, restrooms, and storage, providing purpose-built environments that better serve student programs and extracurricular activities. Interior renovations focus on modernizing high-use areas, including upgrades to the auditorium, cafeteria, and library.

The auditorium features new seating, updated finishes, and improvements to lighting and acoustics. Enhancements to stage and support areas improve functionality for fine arts programs, assemblies, and community events, while accessibility and code compliance upgrades enhance circulation and usability. The cafeteria expansion increases capacity and efficiency with new updated finishes, ceilings, lighting systems, and durable modern furnishings, along with enhanced food service operations that streamline serving lines and improve back-of-house efficiency. The space is also designed for flexibility, supporting multipurpose use beyond daily meal service. The library was transformed into a modern learning commons with updated finishes, flooring, ceilings, and lighting, as well as integrated technology and flexible furnishings supporting a variety of learning styles. Additional improvements include exterior and courtyard enhancements that promote connectivity and flexible student use, as well as roof replacement to improve building performance and longevity.

Overall, the project reflects Birdville ISD’s commitment to providing modern, safe, and adaptable learning environments that support both academic achievement and extracurricular engagement for current and future students.
