City of Lubbock - Fire Station No. 20

Lubbock, TX

About the project

The City of Lubbock’s Fire Station No. 20 is a modern facility designed to enhance emergency response capabilities in the community. The project involved building a one-story, 15,483 SF station and includes training areas, offices, dormitories, and an apparatus bay, along with surface parking. The exterior features a combination of brick and cast stone, complemented by aluminum storefront framing with e-coated glazing.

The project encompasses various construction trades, including concrete, masonry, metals, wood/plastics, thermal and moisture protection, finishes, specialties, equipment, furnishings, fire suppression, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, electronic safety and security, earthwork, and site improvements.

In August 2023, the Lubbock City Council reallocated $3 million from a previously budgeted $4 million for fire truck purchases to fully fund the completion of Fire Station 20. This reallocation aimed to expedite the project's progress without impacting the overall budget.

The construction of Fire Station 20 is part of Lubbock's broader initiative to modernize its public safety infrastructure, ensuring that emergency services are well-equipped to serve the growing needs of the community.
