City of Lubbock - Police Headquarters

Lubbock, TX

About the project

The $15M Police Headquarters in Lubbock is a three-story facility that houses the administration and communication departments, 83 sworn individuals, and 98 civilians, as well as part of the Investigations Bureau and the Administration Bureau - which consists of the Fire Marshal’s Offices, Major Crimes Unit, Special Victims Unit, Communications Center and Records Unit, and portions of police administration. Each floor is strategically set up to improve communication within the department, with multiple conference rooms throughout the facility, and common areas for department members to take advantage of. Quiet rooms have been placed throughout the building to help officers unwind after a tough shift, and the gym will help them stay physically ready for the job. Architecturally, the facility utilizes materials from the adjacent Citizens Tower, LP&L utilities building, and parking structure to create the uniformity of a municipal campus. There are also hidden details throughout the building reflecting law enforcement—like the chevron motif used to reflect the stripes signifying the officer's ranks worn on their uniforms.
