StarCenter Multisport Facility Farmers Branch

Farmers Branch, TX

About the project

The StarCenter Multisport public-use facility is situated on a 3-acre site adjacent to the Children’s Health StarCenter Farmers Branch, formerly the Dr. Pepper StarCenter. The facility serves over 50,000 unique youth athletes annually. It can configure up to eight basketball courts, 16 volleyball courts, 16 pickleball courts, as well as six throwball courts, depending on the day's sports programming. The courts are on either side of the central support spaces, which include locker rooms, public restrooms, and a large concessions center. The mezzanine level features large observation decks for spectator viewing of sporting events and a substantial weight training room.

The StarCenter is a collaborative effort between the Dallas Stars, the City of Farmers Branch, and WRA Architects. It also serves as the home base for Texas Advantage Volleyball (TAV), one of the most successful club volleyball organizations in the United States.
