Lubbock County Medical Examiner
The new Lubbock County Medical Examiner’s Office is a state-of-the-art facility designed to modernize and centralize forensic services for the region. Replacing the county’s former leased space, the purpose-built facility includes administrative offices, evidence handling and technical support areas, a dedicated recovery space, an expanded morgue with capacity for more than 200 refrigerated and 80 frozen remains, and an advanced autopsy suite featuring eight fully equipped stations. Designed to meet stringent accreditation, security, and operational requirements while supporting staff wellness and workflow efficiency, the facility will serve as a premier forensic resource for Lubbock County, West Texas, and potentially eastern New Mexico.
